Online Advertising

Online Advertising and Digital Marketing

It’s important to know your online advertising options, to help you  make more cost-effective online advertising decisions.  Below are some examples of Online Advertising.

Banner Ads

This is probably the most familiar form of online advertising.  These are visual ads that display on third-party websites.  The cost will vary from website to website.  These types of ads can be static images, text, floating banners, wallpaper ads, popup ads, or video ads.

Social Media Ads

Social Media Advertising is a great way to connect with your customers and potential customers.  Social Media Ads can be anything from a text or image banner to an auto-play video.  You can pay to boost certain posts, and select the targeted audience you want it to reach.  Platforms to consider advertising on are FaceBook, twitter, Pinterest, and LinkedIn.  But you’ll only want to pay for advertising on the platforms that are relevant to your business.

PPC (Pay – Per – Click)

Google AdWords generates leads through the AdWords PPC program.  You choose keywords that are relevant to your business, and bid on them.  You pay a bit more to show up first, but you only pay when someone clicks on your ad.  This is a great to target your most important keywords you may not yet be ranking well for in the organic search results.

Remarketing / Retargeting

An exciting new (ish) form of online advertising is Remarketing.  When people visit your site, you drop a cookie on them, and as they travel around the web, your ads are displayed to them through the Google ad network.  This can be a cost effective way to reach potential customers after they leave your site, to remind them of your business and what you have to offer.
